Quinua Ceramics
are human creations where the advancement of its technology, conception and
decoration is determined solely by its maker. Although fragile when stricken,
ceramic is a durable good. Ancient illiterate cultures are studied through the
ceramic objects found at archeological sites not only in Peru but around the
globe. Quinua is a small Andean town and considered to be a potters' town, long
known for the production of ceramics. Unfortunately, the violence that
prevailed in the region during the 1980s relocated many of the craftsmen near
Lima, where they continue working on their craft.
